Research Interests:

Oral microbiology; microbial physiology

Areas that my colleagues and I investigate include: intraoral factors and interbacterial relationships that might contribute to establishing and maintaining the normal human oral bacterial flora; mechanisms of action of salivary lactoperoxidase and lysozyme on oral microorganisms; and virulence factors of periodontopathogens.
