Dr. McPherson’s research focuses on the early detection of dementia via multiple modalities. In conjunction with the GRECC at the Minneapolis VAMC and the Center for Memory Research and Care (CMRC) at the University of Minnesota we are in the process of building a database of patients who have been evaluated for dementia using neuropsychological tests, functional assessment, neurological evaluation and imaging. In addition, our team is involved in research using other investigational technologies such a Magnetic Encephalography (MEG) and PET scanning to help detect early change in dementia.
