Fellowship in Pediatric Blood and Marrow Transplantation, Pediatrics Blood and Marrow Transplantation, Medical School, at the University of Minnesota

The Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, Blood and Marrow Transplantation at the University of Minnesota offers a fellowship in Pediatric Blood and Marrow Transplantation of one year's duration.

The fellowship includes clinical service time on the acute bone marrow transplant ward and in the outpatient BMT clinic.

Additionally, time will be available to allow fellows to rotate through appropriate sections of the departments of therapeutic radiology, blood bank, hematopathology, as well as to gain some familiarity with the current laboratory investigations underway at the University of Minnesota in the area of bone marrow transplantation.

This fellowship is for individuals who have completed a fellowship in pediatric hematology/oncology or a related field or those individuals who are currently at a faculty level who desire additional experience in the area of bone marrow transplantation.

No block of time is allocated in the fellowship for basic science research and this fellowship does not satisfy board requirements for sub specialization in pediatric hematology/oncology as directed by the American Board of Pediatrics.

The pediatric bone marrow transplant program at the University of Minnesota is one of the largest in the world, performing related, unrelated, autologous and cord blood transplants.
