Deborah Hans, M.D., Division of Neonatology within the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Minnesota

Dr. Debbie Hans Dr. Debbie Hans is a fellow in the Division of Neonatology at the University of Minnesota from 2005-2008. She completed her residency in pediatrics at the University of Minnesota in September 2005 and attended medical school at the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine from 1998-2002. She received her B.S. in Biological Sciences from Michigan Technological University in 1998, where she graduated with Summa Cum Laude honors.

Dr. Hans' research investigates the effect of iron deficiency on hippocampal recognition memory and neurodevelopmental outcomes using a model of infants of diabetic mothers.  She is also conducting a nationwide survey to elicit the enteral and parenteral nutrition practices in the NICU.

Dr. Hans is a native of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.  Her recreational interests include golf, skiing and gardening.  She lives with her husband, Tony, and two sons, Easton and Evan.
