Clinical interests include:

  • psychological aspects of and adjustment to chronic medical illness (e.g.cystic fibrosis, PKU)
  • consultation within health care settings
  • behavioral and developmental disorders (e.g., attention deficit hyperactivity disorder)
  • child abuse
  • fetal alcohol syndrome
  • forensic issues in child psychology (e.g., custody evaluations)
  • the effects of early institutionalization and prenatal substance exposure to the long term develiopmental outcome of children.

Research interests include:

  • impact of organ transplantation on cognitive and language development
  • attachment and developmental outcome of high risk and premature neonates
  • Phenylketonuria
  • psychological aspects of medical illness (e.g., oncology)
  • single fathers' adjustment
  • clinical supervision

Dr. Chang is a member of the following:

  • American Psychological Association
  • Minnesota Psychological Association (he received an award as Distingushed Elder in Mental Health and Psychology)
  • Minnesota Child Psychologists
  • The Society of Pediatric Psychology
  • The National Council on Children's Rights
  • The International Society on Research in Parenting

Dr. Chang is a member of the Training Committee.
