A minimum of four 3-month rotations on Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation Units are required, which are typically completed in the PGY 2 & 3 years. The following sites are available. Click on each of the links below for rotation descriptions and staff biographies:

    • University of Minnesota Medical Center, Fairview (UMMC)
    • Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC)
    • Minneapolis VA Medical Center (VAMC)
    • Regions Hospital
    • Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare

The remainder of our residency training includes eight 3-month rotations involving a mix of PM&R consult service, subspecialty outpatient clinics, pediatrics, and EMG experiences. These rotations include the following with a variable sequence:

    • UMMC: PM&R Consults (3 mo.)
    • VAMC: PM&R Consults (3 mo.)
    • UMMC: PM&R, Subspecialty and Pain Clinics (3 mo.)
    • VAMC: PM&R Clinics (3 mo.)
    • HCMC: PM&R and Subspecialty Clinics (3 mo.)
    • EMG I and II: Totals 6 months split into 2 rotations. EMG experience primarily occurs at the VAMC PM&R Department.
    • VAMC, Spinal Cord Rotation, 50% inpatient, 50% outpatient (3 mo.)
    • Regions: PM&R Clinics (3 mo.)
