Eating Disorders Research Program

The University of Minnesota Eating Disorders Research Program has provided treatment and conducted research in the area of eating disorders since the 1970’s. The program has been the recipient of several research grants from the National Institutes of Health, the National Institute of Mental Health, the Minnesota Obesity Center, and private foundations such as the McKnight Foundation. The investigators who oversee the clinic are internationally known for their research in this area.

The Eating Disorders Research Program conducts studies on Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, and Binge Eating Disorder as well as on Obesity. We are currently recruiting adult volunteers for the following study:

Anorexia Nervose Neuroimaging Study

The University of Minnesota Department of Psychiatry is seeking adult females with anorexia nervosa to participate in a study examining if there are structural or chemical differences in the brains of people with anorexia nervosa compared to those without this disorder. Therapy Study for Binge Eating

Individuals ages 18 and older who struggle with binge eating or compulsive overeating are needed for a research study offering free therapy. For more information about this University of Minnesota study, please call: 612-627-1991 or email: anpalm@umn.edu.
