Learning transplant medicine from researchers who are curing fatal skin diseases through stem cell transplants.

Learning integrative biology from researchers who combat the ever-present shortage of organs for donation by developing techniques to grow new ones.

Learning how to combat neurologic disorders by mapping the connections of the human brain. All of them.

At the University of Minnesota, postgraduate residency and fellowship have made such opportunities a reality.

From medical residencies in neurology, anesthesiology and ophathalmology to postdoctoral fellowships in pediatric orthopaedic surgery and radiology, our University offers residencies and fellowships in nearly every medical specialty and subspecialty.

Our faculty are re-defining the term “standard of care,” conducting the leading-edge medical research necessary to battle some of today’s most complex clinical conditions.

With a long-standing tradition of excellence, our postgraduate training programs have attracted doctors from across the globe. In fact, we have almost 150 residents and fellows from other countries currently practicing with us.

At the University of Minnesota, you can choose from 12 main training sites across the region. Our partnerships with hospitals and clinics in rural Minnesota allow you to practice in a variety of settings. We also have partnerships in other states, as well as other countries.

Our innovative training techniques, state-of-the-art equipment, and interdisciplinary focus allow physicians to refine their skills and learn from the best doctors in the field.

At the University of Minnesota, we welcome you to practice alongside the medical leaders who are driven to discover the treatments, cures and medical therapies of tomorrow.
