Steer Family Award in Diabetes Research (G/S)

Nominations are invited for the Steer Family Award in Diabetes Research, which recognizes outstanding basic scientific research by a graduate student or a medical student in the field of diabetes mellitus at the University of Minnesota Medical School, Minneapolis.

Through this award, Randolph C. Steer, M.D., Ph.D. and his brothers Clifford J. Steer, M.D. and Reginald D. Steer wish to recognize with love and respect two humanitarians, their mother Rozica and her mother Sifra.

The $1,000 award is presented for outstanding research by a graduate or medical student in the field of diabetes mellitus. The  Medical Education Honors and Awards Committee will select the recipient.

Nomination process

The nomination form and all application materials should be submitted electronically as a single PDF.

  • A cover letter outlining the nature of the research
  • The research paper
  • A letter from the faculty sponsor outlining the role the student played in the research and the significance to the field of research
