Online Enrichment

Welcome to Online Enrichment

Congratulations on the decision to pursue your medical training at the University of Minnesota Medical School.  We know that all of you are academic stars but we're also aware that medical training presents challenges to every student. Working with the first year course directors and experts in learning, we've put together a collection of pre-matriculation materials & opportunities (called Enrichment) to assist in making your year 1 transition as efficient and effective as possible.  Enrichment has 2 components:  1. On-campus (4-day program), and 2. Online (self-guided materials).  [Please note that Enrichment offerings are optional and provided in part to assist students interested in them.  Any course content provided will still be covered in the Fall courses.]

Materials provided below make up the 'Online' component of Enrichment. These consist of materials provided by course directors for the 3 lecture-based Fall term courses [Human Histology, Gross Anatomy & Embryology and Science of Medical Practice (SMP)].  This mini-curriculum can be completed at your own pace and in any order preferred.

Time permitting, take the opportunity to consider previewing the modules provided as part of your transition efforts.  We look forward to meeting you all in August to start your training process!

Be well,

Michael Kim, MD, Assistant Dean for Student Affairs
Scott Slattery, PhD, Director of Learner Development
