Why I chose the University of Minnesota Medical School

The University of Minnesota has so many opportunities, whether it is research, global medicine, community outreach, health policy, etc - there is something for everyone. I also really value time with my family and friends, so being close to home was also a big factor.

Research experience

After undergrad, I worked at the Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation. There, I examined minimally invasive heart valve replacement verses the surgical alternative. Currently, I am exploring the prevalence and medical management of subclinical hypothyroidism among internationally adopted children through my research at the University of Minnesota Discovery Clinic.
Medical Interests: 
I am interested in social determinants of health, global health, women's health and community outreach programs.

Community Involvement

I volunteer at the Pillsbury House Integrated Health Clinic and the Science Museum. I am also a student ambassador and part of the Women in Medicine Interest Group.
