They provide a framework for the assessment of the development of the resident physician in key dimensions of the elements of general surgery competency. Impact: Semi-annually utilized by 258 general surgery residencies to assess 7894 residents. Member of Milestone Working Group, developed content for competency areas, monograph preparation, alpha testing of Milestones and data acquisition.
