How to Apply

All residency positions are offered through the National Residency Matching Program. Invitations to interview and appointments to the program are offered by the Residency Selection Committee. American Medical Graduates should contact their Dean’s Office for information. International Medical Graduates should contact the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG). Click here for a link to the Electronic Residency Application Services (ERAS) Application Kit. No paper applications will be accepted. The application deadline is October 7, 2022. We do not accept applications after this deadline. We understand that some Dean's letters will arrive soon after the deadline has passed.

International Medical Graduates must be able to satisfy the English language proficiency requirement for ECFMG certification. There are no special requirements for international medical graduate applicants other than being ECFMG-certified.

The Dermatology program begins at the PGY-2 level. We will be filling 4 positions to begin July 1, 2024 (start date at the University of Minnesota for PGY-2). The University of Minnesota’s Dermatology Residency Program accepts only J-1 visas.
