Research

Research is an integral part of our culture in the Department of Dermatology. Virtually all of our clinical faculty are engaged in some form of clinical research, which is done in close collaboration with the Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI). The department is also involved in an interdisciplinary Translational Working Group developed by the Masonic Cancer Center to reduce and eventually eliminate the burden of skin cancers. Currently, our basic science researchers are making strides in the fields of neurodermatology, tissue imaging and melanoma research. Dermatology faculty mentor and collaborate with medical students, residents and fellows on a wide array of research projects that are meaningful to the field of dermatology. To learn more about current research in the Department of Dermatology, please follow the Clinical and Basic Science research links in the sidebar.
