Catalog Description: Provides integrated coverage of Cardiology and Respiratory pathophysiology, pathology, and pharmacology along with relevant aspects of Infectious Disease pathophysiology. An overarching goal is to provide students with a firm foundation that will allow them to successfully transition to evaluating and managing patients with cardiac and respiratory disease during 3rd and 4th year clinical rotations. As much as possible, all discipline-specific aspects of a topic, including lectures, labs, and small group activities, are grouped within the course. Furthermore, topics build off one another such that students will be capable of handling increasingly complex case scenarios with each subsequent week.
