The Office of Undergraduate Medical Education provides institutional oversight to the education of our students through various committees, policies and procedures. Faculty, staff, and students play a vital role in shaping these committees and creating our policies.
Various policies established and approved by the Education Council aim to organize our students' academic progress, grades, and professional behavior.
All UMN Medical School students are required to maintain satisfactory academic progression throughout their medical school career.
Medical students in lecture, small group, an administrator's office, clinic or the hospital, whether patients are in the room or not, are professionals and are required to act as such.
A number of committees are actively involved in shaping the curriculum and other essential aspects of our students medical education. These include the Education Council, Education Steering Committee, various course committees, plus student council and government.
All UMN Medical School students are required to remain compliant throughout their medical school career.
