Dr. Apostolidou and Dr. Konia Published in the Journal of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Anesthesia
Research conducted by Dr. Ioanna Apostolidou and Dr. Mojca Konia from the Department of Anesthesiology about the Anesthetic Implications of Chronic Lung Disease in Patients Undergoing Transcatheter Valve Implantation has been published in the Journal of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Anesthesia.
This article highlights factors to consider for the aesthetic planning of patients with severe restrictive lung diseases undergoing TAVI. This can be a large clinical challenge to assess whether or not the benefit of the procedure exceeds its futility. There is no formula for anesthetic management because each final plan should be individualized to the clinic situation and the patient themselves.
