Jim Boulger, PhD, Distinguished University Teaching Professor, in the Department of Family Medicine and BioBehavioral Health on the Duluth Campus, has received the Academy’s highest honor: honorary membership to the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP). This award honors persons of distinction who have rendered outstanding service to the AAFP or medical profession.

For nearly five decades, Dr. Boulger has played a key role in the development of the University of Minnesota Medical School, Duluth Campus, and its mission to educate medical students who will go on to practice family medicine in rural Minnesota and American Indian communities.

He will be honored at the 2018 AAFP Congress of Delegates in New Orleans, LA, on Tuesday, October 9 at 1:00 pm.
