The Medical School’s Department of Diagnostic Radiology has been a leader for more than 75 years in the field of diagnostic imaging -- providing patient care, research and education. Patient Care Using state-of-the-art equipment, University of Minnesota radiologists serve the health care needs of Minnesota patients and those from around the world. Education Learning to use diagnostic imaging is part of lifelong learning and professional development for our medical students, residents, and fellows. Research Radiology faculty are dedicated to cutting edge clinical and basic science research. In addition to individual faculty efforts, a number of research centers exist within the department, including the Center for Interdisciplinary Medical Image Processing, the Center for Industrial Applications of MRI, and the Center for Magnetic Resonance Research.
