I am thrilled to share some exciting news regarding key leadership appointments within our department. Please join me in congratulating Melissa Brunsvold, MD, on her expanded role as Vice Chair for Education and Daniel Kendrick, MD, on his new role as Program Director for the General Surgery Residency. Their roles will be effective starting July 1, 2024.

Dr. Brunsvold has consistently demonstrated an outstanding commitment to enhancing educational programs and fostering an environment of excellence and innovation. In her expanded role as Vice Chair for Education, Dr. Brunsvold will continue to lead and enhance our educational initiatives, ensuring that our department remains at the forefront of surgical education and education research.

Dr. Kendrick brings a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of the needs of our residents to his new position as Program Director for the General Surgery Residency. With a proven track record of leadership and dedication to resident training, Dr. Kendrick is exceptionally well-suited to guide our residents through their educational journey and to further enhance the quality and scope of our residency program.
