IEM supports many efforts that continue the Minnesota legacy of "turning science and engineering into medical practice." We build upon the rich biomedical, engineering, and commercialization infrastructure at the University (including our own Bakken Medical Devices Center, Visible Heart Lab, Clinical Immersion Program, and Clinician Engagement Program) and in the Twin Cities metropolitan area.

Academy of Medical Device Innovators

Established in 2012 through the University of Minnesota's Medical School and College of Science and Engineering to honor and promote researchers who have had great impact on patients' lives through their work while at the University.

Industry Fellows

Ambassadors of medical technology companies to the University of Minnesota. They explore and pursue collaborative research initiatives, communicate industry needs to UMN faculty and UMN expertise to industry, and participate at IEM events.
