The Otolaryngology Future Scholars Program recently welcomed three medical student-scholars to explore the field of otolaryngology. This visit provided the scholars with a comprehensive understanding of the ENT specialties and the opportunity to engage with our faculty. Through hands-on experiences, mentoring, and educational sessions, the Future Scholars Program nurtures the next generation of leaders in otolaryngology.

During their visit, the medical student-scholars actively participated in clinical rotations and surgical observations, gaining firsthand experience in various otolaryngology specialties. They had the privilege to witness complex surgeries, learn about cutting-edge techniques, and observe the collaborative efforts of the healthcare team.

The program facilitated networking opportunities with faculty, residents, and fellow medical students, giving the scholars an opportunity to ask questions and gain a better understanding of the field. The scholars were able to connect with like-minded peers and established professionals, establishing relationships that may shape their future careers.

The aim of the Otolaryngology Future Scholars Program is to provide early exposure to otolaryngology for students from programs without an otolaryngology residency. The program will provide clinical experiences as well as coaching on applications and interview skills to help participants become competitive otolaryngology residency applicants.
