The U-R-Welcome Program in partnership with Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

The Offices of the Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies and the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion have partnered to launch the UR Welcome program.  The chief objective is to connect underrepresented (UR) groups in the Medical School graduate programs with other faculty, students and postdoctoral fellows.

The program provides information-social (or infosocial) and networking events to provide community building, mentorship and advisement, cultural celebration and collaborative research opportunities. The events are catered by the Medical School with special guest invites at each event.

It is our hope that the events provide recognition of the commitment, challenges faced and importance of diverse cultural communities within the Medical School with respect to our talented and driven graduate students and postdoctoral scholars. Many of our UR faculty and staff members have faced and overcome similar obstacles and it is the hope that by sharing our stories we can strengthen our bonds and commitments to each other and other UR individuals within and external to the University.

UR Welcome Events

Please join us spring of 2024 for our first UR Welcome Event. Invited special guest will be the Vice Dean and Director of the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion for the Medical School Ana Nunez, MD. More to come!
