Dr. Khalifa conducts clinical and translational research in gynecologic, hepato-biliary and gastrointestinal disease including cancer using immunohistochemical techniques. The growing number of well-defined tumor antibodies and biomarkers enables surgical pathologists to make a diagnosis with ever-greater accuracy. Antibodies and biomarkers also can provide prognostic information for how a tumor may progress and respond to treatment.
