2018 Pilot Grant Program in Addiction Science

Program Description

The objective of the pilot grant program is to support transformative ideas in addiction science that engage new teams in multiple disciplines and to generate preliminary data for external funding submissions. The maximum award will be $75,000 for the total duration of the project. Recipients will have up to two years to complete projects. We expect to support 4-5 proposals. This grant is not intended to sustain existing work and must be applied to new unfunded projects.

Application Instructions

Applications will be accepted through April 30, 2018. Recipients will be notified of awards by early Summer 2018. Applications should be submitted electronically by completing the online application survey, which will include uploading required materials.

About the Medical Discovery Team on Addiction

The University of Minnesota's Medical Discovery Team on Addiction is a multi-departmental endeavor across the University of Minnesota Medical School to advance research and treatment in the field of drug addiction. The overarching vision of the Medical Discovery Team on Addiction is to link basic research to new therapeutic approaches to treating substance abuse. The State of Minnesota has appropriated significant funds over the next ten years for the Medical School to create a world-class, neuroscience-based program for the study and treatment of addiction.
