Hennepin Longitudinal Integrated Experience (HeLIX)

 

HeLIX

HeLIX is an 11-month program at Hennepin County Medical Center for third-year medical students from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities and Duluth Campuses. While at HCMC, you will develop strong relationships with both faculty and patients as you work through most of your core clerkships.

Unique learning experiences: 

 Orientation coincides with new resident orientation, and includes primer for each specialty. Simulation-based training, learning basic principles of narrative medicine/reflective practice, weekly didactic sessions, structured formative assessment system (separate from grading), opportunities for home visits and working with ancillary services including phlebotomy, nursing, PT, OT, RT, and PharmD.
